i just remembered something at my convo that i forgot to share in the previous post. haha. at my diploma convo two weeks back, i don't know why i got nervous at the wrong time. the whole time i was fine, didn't feel the slightest panic at all until my coursemate who was in front of me went to get his scroll and as i was standing at the marked spot waiting for my turn, i suddenly became gelabah :p then my name was called and as i walked towards the guest of honor my shoe strap came off. that made me more nervous that i just shook the guy's hand and wanted to leave straight until he said "ambik ini (take this)", handing me the scroll. my goodness can u believe it? i went for my convo but didnt take the scroll - the symbol of graduation! haha. i was like "oh sorry sorry" then embarassingly took the scroll :p i doubt i even looked into the camera. let's just hope the photo wont turned out with me looking some where else whereas the guest looked straight into the camera. that'd look really weird and funny. lol
i'd post up some pics but i'm still waiting for the pics from robert. see this was what happened...
ivan stored all the pics in his laptop and then that afternoon his laptop just couldn't be turned on. so we asked robert to check it and he 'diagnosed' it 'dead' :p yea...the laptop has finally ended it's life but thankfully we still can retrieve the datas. so we passed it to the IT expert, robert to help us with that :) i'll post the pics up when i get them back.
on another note, the HELP convocation that I was supposed to work for last sunday turned out pretty interesting for me. getting to see and experience the behind-the-scenes parts was indeed something. being in back stage was also an experience in itself. to see that even the deans and overseas representatives fell asleep proves that convos ARE boring :p there was this australian (if im not mistaken) guy who dozed off right until a short while before his turn to present the certs and as if he knew that it was close to his turn, he automatically woke up. haha.
man were the trays heavy! and it didnt help that each student's name was called rather slowly. each of us were to rotate do three times each. in my second round, i could feel my hands shivering and it was scary. i was afraid that i might drop the tray and unintentionally cause a scene for myself :p except for the tan sri's speech, everything else ended pretty fast, just as scheduled.
i ended up having hand ache on my left hand the next day. ivan was saying that it shows how unfit i am that even carrying a tray can cause my hand to ache. haha. so true :p

echoes off the sky
oh well...it's 2.09am now and i'm waiting for the downloading of the new msn (yes yes i'm outdated :p) and i have nothing else better to do so i thought i'd just write a little. hehe
just a brief update on what's happening..pretty much nothing interesting really besides work. sorry la..work's taking most of my time so i can't avoid talking bout it don't i? eh even i find msyself boring ok :p so yea...work's been rather a lot lately with the exams coming up in may and june and my senior being on maternity leave for the next one month, leaving me and another staff who's also new at this with all the timetabling, name listings and seating plans to complete by end of this month. quite a challenge i must say but it's not too bad and since i'm quiting end of june, this workload would make time pass much faster :)
other than that..hmm...my degree? i dont know. i hate coming back to this crossrod where i have to choose and decide what i want to do again. that's not all, it's what, where and when. ugh...pening. haha. well...i'd most likely continue in business which will help narrow down my options :)
mm..what else? let's see...
oh i've just had my convo last saturday. my diploma convo. initially i didn't want to go cause i was thinkin it's so silly to have a covo for diploma. it's not like it's that big a deal (to me la) and why waste money. but then when i found out the price and all about a month earlier, i was like "ok la not too bad" plus my friend really wanted it so i thought why not. anyways...it all turned out pretty well i'd say. i had a fairly good time :) it's just fun to meet those you dont meet or talk that often in college before and find out that they're really nice and funny actually. except some whom have turned out to be 'i'm-too-cool-to-be-your-friend' type really turned me off. i guess that's just life. you meet all sorts of people, they come and they go.
now that i've had my convo, this sunday i have to WORK at people's convo :p haha. adrienne, tim and i are working this sunday at HELP's convo. adrienne and i are dutied on the stage and tim..i forgot :p i find it really interesting that i get to experience two convos in two weeks from two different perspectives, one as the graduand and one as a staff. one week i was seating down the stage waiting for my name to be called and the next week i'll be standing on stage to help hand out the 'certs'. interesting huh? :)
k la that's it for now...nothing else interesting to talk bout =p till then have a great weekend ahead!

the people you meet in your life
what a way to start the week.
the train reaches at 6.36am every morning and this morning i reached the station at 6.33am..not too bad still. there's a possibility i can catch it if i ran fast enough and normally i would be able to catch it. this morning was the same case. i bought the ticket and saw that everyone at the opposite track got up from their seats which was a sign of the arrival of the train. so i ran the fastest i could which is normally really not that fast actually :p as i was running down the stairs the train was still there and i was thinking.."ok good i can make it then i wouldn't have to wait for another 20 minutes"...down to the last two steps to my disbelieve the doors closed and the train began moving! can you imagine it...last two steps!! i was that close! argh... i mean if it was the putra or star lrt then i wouldn't be so mad...this is ktm, the old fashioned, manually controlled doors train we're talking bout. the mean driver could have been a lil kind-er seeing this lady running like there's no tmr and waited for five more seconds! compared to the hours (collectively from all the times i took the train) i waited for their delayed trains, this five seconds is almost invisible in their "on-time schedules". in the end i waited there for 30 minutes instead of 20 for the next train because it was DELAYED. geramnya...
fine that was that. i reached my workplace and decided to buy breakfast at the food court nearby. i took nasi lemak with fried egg and proceeded to pay at the counter. a guy beside me took the exact same thing as me. we stood there for like five minutes like dungu waiting for either the boss or worker to come collect our money. can u imagine it's like we're begging them to take our money. i tell u people these days....i dont know what to say. ok fine. the worker came and she collected from the guy first. came my turn, she opened my box and charged me 2.50. i was like "itu orang punya pun sama dengan saya kenapa saya you charge lebih?" she replied "oh..nasi dia sikit." -_- she didnt even open the box how sure was she that his took little and i'm quite sure i saw the guy took almost the same quantity as me. i think i paid almost 1.50 more than that guy. i mean it's not like i can't pay 2.50 but only if it's the same for others as well la and this is the second time this lady overcharged me. ugh...dah la made me wait then overcharge me some more. i'm never going back there again.

the Famous One
yup we're celebrating the death of the Famous One today. note: Celebrating!
i guess i'll just let the lyrics of one of my favourite songs speak.
By His Wounds - Mac Powell
He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed
We are healed by Your sacrifice
And the life that You gave
We are healed for You paid the price
By Your grace we are saved
We are saved
He was pierced for our transgressions
And crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed
We are healed by Your sacrifice
And the life that You gave
We are healed for You paid the price
By Your grace we are saved
We are saved
He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed
And by His wounds, by His wounds
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
hear it =)
nothing that we did or will do that made Him chose to die for you and me. it was love. pure and holy love. we didn't choose Him, He chose us. so it's now up to you and me to decide whether we want to accept this gift. this gift of life. this gift represented by the blood of Jesus Christ. this gift that if it weren't for Him, we instead would be the ones dying on that cross for our own transgressions.

it is going no where
i've been down with a stuck-nose (sort of flu) and sore throat since saturday and work is the last place i wanna be today :p i just wanna stay home, cuddle my smelly bolster and sleep the whole day. breathing only through one nostril makes it even worse but thank God the pizzas yesterday didn't aggravate my sore throat or else i'd be suffering right now. haha.
except for a few exam entries, i've not had anything else to do since morning and that explains today's post. killing time = reason-less post = nonsense. my sincere apologies if this has anyhow wasted your time :p haha.
signing out for now :)
p/s: if the boredom continues, you may see another nonsense post =p

effect of extreme boredom
since i cant afford the real ipod, a virtual one is as good :p
i'm SO bored that i've decided to steal/copy my bro's idea. haha. enjoy! :)
btw...if you're thinkin that all the songs come with a video clip, i'm sorry they're not except for "tear drops on my guitar" and a couple others i think. brian litrell's clip doesn't make any sense so dont try bother figuring out why they put pic of cd(s) when the title is "in Christ alone" and casting crown's clips is just...funny. haha.

in memory of Jingle
ok this seem like a delayed one since he is no longer with me. who is he? well..here are some pics to intro him :)
yup. the he i'm refering to is a cat :p
this little kitten was found in a box left by someone (obviously) outside my aunt's house, at the gate about two months back. my aunt wanted to keep him but apparently her two other cats were afraid/jealous of this cutie that they would 'run from home'. haha. so she decided to give it to us.
we looked after him for about a month then we decided to let him go since all of us felt it was to 'ma fan' to look after him...pfft pfft. my mum let him go at the shops that are bout 5 minutes drive from our house.
so that's the story of Jingle, our ex-kitten.
ps: you wanted pictures right elicia...here you go! now...visit my blog more! :p haha

no...not ivan la :p

i hope im on the right track
after the CNY long hols (10 days to be exact), im back to work feeling a tad disconnected. my mind was almost blank as i sat or rather stood in the train and bus this morning. it felt like my mind still couldnt register that holidays are over and work's back. it could be that i only had 3 hours of sleep last night or that i just refuse to switch off my holiday mode :p
after the much look forwarded and awaited holidays, everything and everyone's back to normal. routine begin its cycle once more. rigidity takes it place like before and people joining back the rat race that im not so fond of, sadly.
i feel that i'm not caught up for the 9-to-5-stuck-in-the-office kinda thing. i think i'd prefer something that takes me out to the field. something more practical rather than just paper work...papers make me dizzy :p haha. not to say i hate this job or anything but i think maybe this is just not the field that im interested in. so what am i interested in? i dont know. we'll slowly discover. hehe
but...as at now, i cant wait to go back to college! lol. unbelievable right? coming from someone who claims to anti education =p. and how ironic? i cant wait to go back to college when im actually in one...just not studying. haha
oh well...all i can do now is continue praying and see what God has installed for me :) and i just heard a song which goes along the lines..."just call upon His name and nothing is impossible"
*********************************************************************************
food food food!! yup. that's basically the summary of my cny this year. lol
however, i must say i had an enjoyable cny actually...catching up with friends that i've never had the time to meet up with since our last meeting months back. to see that many of us still hadn't changed gave me a sense of gladness and joy. they are the same people whom i spent my whole high school life with and still the same four years later. these are the people i want to keep forever :)

hey hey hey
ello :) first post of the year. hehe. have been really busy since the beginning of the year. attending to students non stop. i wonder was i that 'ma fan' when i was in college. you know...enquire bout this and that, ask this ask that, change this change that...i dont think i was lor and neither were my friends :p haha but i tell you..the students here. haiyo....
anyways...im currently not at my office but at the exam centre, waiting for the students to finish their paper in 1/2 hours time, then have collect the papers, count them, make sure everything's ok then send it off to uk. my colleague saw that i have nothing to do, sit there like 'dong-dong', she allowed me to use the unused, dusty computer. well...at least something. haha
wow chinese new year is just around the corner and i havent even done any shopping yet! this problem repeats every year. we (my family and i) always wait till last minute to shop and by then we'll be too panicked we'll just roughly pick the clothes. however, i find it rather strange, why are the clothes for cny season arent that pretty? eh it doesnt help at all in our last minute shopping lor :p haha. what makes it worse is that i dont really like red-ish stuff especially clothes and most of them are in red! i mean a lil bit of red here and there it's fine but the whole outfit? err...
im so bored and cold right now, i wanna sleep :p

what does tomorrow promise?
"it's the last day of the year." i heard a girl saying that to her friends when i was on board the bus just now and it suddenly dawned on me that IT'S THE LAST DAY of 2008!! it struck me that after today, there's no way we can come back to 2008. it's like what's happened is permanently passed. all that's left are memories.
this new year, i hope to draw closer to God. i realised i've been slacking in my walk with Him and it doesn't feel good at all. i pray that He's door is still open for me and i have faith that it is :)
as for us all, lets hope 2009 brings us to greater heights in understanding His love and grace. to be grateful for the grace that allows us to be where we are today. it's amazing what a forgiving and loving God we have. no matter how far or how long we've strayed away, He's always there waiting with arms open wide for us to return to Him. in Him there's always hope and light. amazing.
anyway...here's wishing all of you a very Happy New Year!!

passing by another year
Christmas is just TWO days away! wow! and that means the year is nearing to its end too. wow! another year. time indeed flies. i can still vividly remember last Christmas and now one year has passed.
Christmas sends a simple yet significant message that is still not known to many i believe. it's not about Santa (i dont know where that white-beard guy came from anyway), neither is it bout gifts nor parties. it all about a simple story with profound message.
it's about JESUS CHRIST. this was the day that He was born and sent down to earth for both you and me, a day of rejoice. this little baby born in a manger was sent to earth for a mission - to die for the sins of you and me that we would be reconciled with God. without this baby boy we're heading hell.
so Christmas is a day to rejoice and be glad in it, for this is the day that our Saviour was born :)

of course parties and gifts and fun are not wrong, it's just that make sure this day is celebrated for it's real reason-Jesus. so go!! be merry and celebrate :)

being the girl i am
guess what i've been doing since yesterday? ;) i've been window shopping online!! i didnt know how fun and interesting it could be! haha. i've heard of local online boutiques that operates through blogs but have not actually took the time to see them. now that i have, i'm so hooked on it :p it's really fun i tell you! screening through pretty clothes, shoes and bags at reasonable prices. these stuff seem to look more affordable online...i dont know why. oh oh!! i just ordered a mini handbag. hehe. i've enquired on a number of things and am waiting for their replies to decide which one to buy. they're my christmas presents la c'mon...more accurately, self-given presents :p haha
here are some of the sites:
Ultimate Dazzle
The Luxurious Fashionista
Elegant Extravaganza
Clothes Bucket
work has been rather dull and boring. to prove it...my boss just yawned...loudly.
man...the year is ending very soon. how time flies....sigh....

i know my God is real and nothing will change how i feel
today's my first day back to work after two days on sick leave. the sore throat was no fun. i woke up on thursday to a hoarse voice which eventually became worse that i could barely speak :p and the pills...eeww...never liked them. why cant all pills be teeny-weeny shapes. why must there be some gigantic pills that are so hard to swallow. ee....
the sleep-in(s) and afternoon naps were good though :) hehe
*****************************************************************
vbs was great! the kids were awesome! the teachers and volunteers were the best but God was amazing throughout the three days!!
this year adrienne and i took the preschool class. the kids range from age three to five. man...they are so adorable and cute!! every single one of them are so special. no wonder they are precious in God's eyes ;)
check them out:

the songs were addictive. seriously. i was even singing it in my sleep :p

another new start
it's one minute to 9am now and im the only one in the office. starting to worry if i should be here or back at the old place. man....
i've moved to the new office yesterday and honestly, i dont really like it :p it's not the place, it's just the whole getting-used-to-it feeling. i've just finally got myself settled in and gotten used to that place, now they wanna move. i wshed they had done it earlier. now i have to start all over. new desk, new work station, new pantry, new route and even new toilet. sheesh...
this keyboard position is so uncomfortable and this work station is so exposed. i had alot of privacy in the previous one. now its like every thing i do can be seen :p
ok it's 8 minutes past nine and there's no one here still.

it is so the 50's
M: we were talking then she came to this part.."give me ivy's email address, i pass to him then they can send emails to each other."
I: NO......!!!
I: phew.....
see, the story goes like this...at my grand cousin's wedding last saturday, my grandaunt (not the bride's mum) wanted to intro me to this single doctor from Ireland, a friend of the bride. huh? intro? you might ask. yes. in this 20th century. and the conversation above, was my mum telling me what she had talked to that aunt the phone earlier yesterday, which was like three days after her first attempt on saturday....and she still didnt give up :p
this was how it went:
A: come ivy, i want to introduce you to Dr M (not Mahathir :p).
I: huh? doctor who?
A: Dr M, Aleena's friend from Ireland. come come...i want to introduce both of you.
I: huh??!! no no...dont want la aunty (trying to sound as polite as possible), i can find my own boyfriend :p
A: *turns to my cousin who just joined the conversation* ah..come michelle, i introduce you to Dr M.
M: huh? what? who?
A: *pulls her hand into the house towards Dr M*
then i dont know what happened but my cousin came out very fast.
A: *drags (literally) my hand into the house towards Dr M*
I: *showing the "Help me" look to my cousins*
A: ah...Dr M this is ivy. Ivy this is Dr M
Dr M: oh oh... *shakes my hand* nice to meet you ivy.
I: *mind went blank as everyone stares* er...Hi (shakes back his hand) *turns around and slowly walks away*
man...it was so awfully awkward. but honestly, i pity Dr M more. i mean he's a guy and a professional for that matter. and here goes this aunt of mine, publicly declaring that he's single and as if saying "Dr M, why at this age still dont have girlfriend ar..some more a doctor. here let me get you one." well..at least that's how i felt what my aunt was trying to convey indirectly. i mean...he looks like a nice guy, seriously, so dont have to say so openly and loudly when introducing la. kesian that fella. i'm a girl and i'm still young (20 is not old ok :) so i dont really care. but i feel sorry for him la. the whole day was kinda awkward after that. haha.
sorry Dr M ! :) at least i kept your privacy by not disclosing your name XD
I: NO......!!!
M: listen first la...then i said to her "i dont think ivy would like it, let me ask her permission first." then shes said "haiya...not love love ma, just write letters only." i said "never mind let me ask ivy first k."
I: phew.....

i've finally found someone, someone to share my life
love was in the air. technically. everyone was so filled with joy and happiness and most of all, filled with love. the night before the wedding we were singing love songs on the karaoke, then everywhere was filled with symbols of love i.e pink and red roses, heart shape chocolates and in the ballroom dinner was accompanied by love songs that were played throughout the night. it was all bout love. that is why i love weddings :)
it was really heart warming to see the happy faces and hear the laughters of my family during my grandcousin's wedding. everyone was having pure fun. i also love it that my family is a multi-racial family. we have chinese, indians, malays and even eurasians. a true malaysian family i would say. oh and guess what, the best man was a malay and the bride's maid was an indian. now that's what i call muhibah :)
all in all, i enjoyed every bit of it :) and to Daniel and Aleena, all the best as you journey in this new chapter together! may the love of God be filled in your marriage :)
and and and...Aleena, in case u stumble upon this blog, you looked absolutely gorgeous!! :)

there were actually tons of pictures but i dont know why my cousins didnt upload them. or else i could have 'stolen' more to post it up :p
ps: that's nine 'love' in one single post. and it just became ten. haha

mission accomplished
notice that i've been blogging three consecutive days? good. it shows that you've been reading my blog for three consecutive days which puts in the same position...bored :p hehe.
well before you give your verdict, let me explain why have i been blogging for three days when i'm supposed to be working. ok here's why:
so...i did manage to get myself something decent for the wedding dinner after three hours of solo shopping last saturday. it's not too bad really. it's a dress :) and i like it (duh! i chose it). it's not to o formal and not too casual. i also got my self a pair of heels at a pretty unexpected price (that means cheap) and a working shirt. so yea...quite happy :). then i also got my mum a blouse and my sis a top and cute pinky hairbands. didnt have enough $$ for Ivan though. hehe. he'll have to wait till Christmas :p it was a fruitful day despite the painful soles. hehe
now i've nothing else to do. why dont they put sofa beds in offices XD
well before you give your verdict, let me explain why have i been blogging for three days when i'm supposed to be working. ok here's why:
- my senior senior is, was and will be on MC
- i've done whatever i'm supposed to do
- low activity season
- there's really nothing to do
- i'll be embarrassed if i walk over to my senior and ask if there's anything to do again cause i've done that countless times :p
- my senior is also free, so that shows that there's really no work :)
