big breakfast! episode. 2

since today's the last day for the mcd big breakfast promotion thingy, my mum and i decided to give it another try. so we arrived at the taipan mcd at 7.05am and the crowwdddd...crazzeee. it was worse than last saturday when we were there. from the previous post you can see that the queue was till the outside of the door but today it extended till two more shops away! if only i knew, i could use another hour of sleep :p anyway, we settled for a mee-goreng-teh-limau-ais breakfast instead. haha. i didn't manage to take any photo of the queue though or you'd be even more shocked.

after dropping me off at work, my mum went over to the tesco branch to take away. she texted me and said there were to lines queueing and each line had like 40 ppl lining up -_- her turn only came an hour later!

i call this the BIG (literally) breakfast craze!

big breakfast!

so finally after hearing all about the mcd big breakfast promotion, i tried it last saturday with my family. we arrived at bout 8am, queued till 8.30am. yup, there were many hungry ppl that morning :p the only reason why didn't mind the queue and all was cause i know i wouldn't buy it if it wasn't for this promotion. with the original price i dont think it's worth-it. so yea...

our God

Water You turned into wine
Open the eyes of the blind
There’s no one like You
None like You
Into the darkness You shine
Out of the ashes we rise
There’s no one like You
None like You

Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome in power
Our God, Our God…

Into the darkness you shining
Out of the ashes we Rise
There’s no One like You
None like You.

Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome in power
Our God, Our God…

And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
What can stand against?

Our God - Chris Tomlin

the only person i know that explicitly claims this to be his favourite song is chris abner. well, today this has become one of my favourite songs too and i especially love the bridge! :) i think subconsciously i'm a tomlin fan and never really noticed that i've always enjoyed his work :)

You'll never let go of me =)

so today finally got the answer from my company that they won't be extending my contract. it's a bummer but then at the time i'm kinda glad as well :) honestly though, if given a choice i'd be more than glad to not work :p but then i have to save enough for my plans mid this year...so yea...by hook or by crook i have to find something to continue to the cash flow. haha. nevertheless, i know i'm not alone in this, i have my Father who is watching over me from above. i'm sure He'll come out with something for me...He always does =) which is awesome!

then again my problem is nothing compared to that of the japanese tsunami victims. heard the news about the 180 heroic nuclear workers who risk their live for the nation in japan and it breaks my heart. it gives me goosebumps to hear that there are still ppl out there who are willing to risk their lives for the sake of others. these ppl are not even forced to, they volunteered. i wonder how does it feel knowing that there's a very very high chance that you'll not survive in 2 weeks. i wonder how do the families feel knowing that they are losing their loved ones and probably for some it wont be the first time since the tsunami hit last friday. it feels like we're so useless at times and the only thing we can do is pray :(

on a brighter note, i'm glad that it's been raining a lot these days which is really a good thing with those crazy hot weather days in kl =) in fact it's actually pouring like crazy now as i'm typing.

poems from 'loved' ones :p

just a lil something to laugh about:

This is the best and most civil way to have a fight between husband and wife instead of resorting to physical force...Poems written by WIFE and HUSBAND.
WIFE:
I wrote your name on sand it got washed.
I wrote your name in air, it was blown away.
Then I wrote your name on my heart & I got Heart Attack.

HUSBAND:
God saw me hungry, he created pizza.
He saw me thirsty, he created Pepsi.
He saw me in the dark, he created light.
He saw me without problems, he created YOU.

WIFE:
Twinkle twinkle little star
You should know what you are
And once you know what you are
Mental hospital is not so far.

HUSBAND:
The rain makes all things beautiful.
The grass and flowers too.
If rain makes all things beautiful
Why doesn't it rain on you?

WIFE:
Roses are red; Violets are blue
Monkeys like u should be kept in zoo.
Don't feel so angry you will find me there too
Not in cage but outside, laughing at you

can we pretend that airplane in the night sky like shooting star

i can't seem to understand why do malaysians so often find all ways to condemn the country and everything that is in it. it can be really sickening geram-ing at times to read and hear comments from our fellow citizens who were born and raised here, that brings down this very country that they so don't appreciate. sometimes it's like saying just for the sake of saying. like even though it's not that bad, we still want to say something bad about it, just itchy itchy want to say something :p i agree that it's much much easier to comment on the negatives rather than positives, i'm guilty of that too but why should we keep comparing our country with that of others. those countries we so often think as 'better' than ours may not be as good as you think, you know. that whole 'other lands are greener than here' line is nonsense. yes, there may be certain aspects that we lack in but there are also many that we are better than others. we can't be constantly looking faults in the government.

i believe that God has a reason why He chose this government to run our country. i like the phrase i heard once in either hitz/fly/mix fm can't remember which but it goes along the lines of "Don't only think of the country can do for you but think of what YOU can do for the country" And somehow i think this can be applied to churches as well. As members, one has to think of how we can serve the church rather than vice versa.

i couldn't agree more.

back to the government, i'm not saying we can't comment, we certainly can but what i'm trying to say is that try seeing things from a different perspective. not all's bad sometimes.

i myself am not agreeable to how certain matters/issues are handled in this country and neither do i like all the politicians that are running this country but i try (very hard :p) not to blame every negative things that happen on them because i know i'm not perfect myself. it's VERY easy to just sit there in front of the tv/newspaper/computer/radio and just comment on how this or that can be done this or that way or how he or she is not fit or why this and that never do this or that. sorry for so many 'this' thats' :p lol. but yea, it's so easy to just talk but doing it is a whole new story. i don't know where have i said this, it could probably be in conversations or in one of my previous posts too :p, my mum used to say "we can't even run our own lives and families properly, what more a country"

by now, some of u must be wondering if i'm some pro-government insider who's paid to do all these or some fanatic who loves her country so very much. haha. no no. i'm neither. yes i do love malaysia but till the extend of 'so very much' la :p lol. no doubt i may one day have to eat back my words but i think i'll always love it here cause my family's here (and also food la of course :p)
***************************************************************

side note, i had an inquiry for P1 Wimax and thought i'd just drop them an email or sth but then i discovered an easier way! hehe. i'm so jakun. i chatted with them at their site! how cool's that? haha. it was my first and i like it! it's so convenient and fast. i could get my answer immediately unlike email which would take bout 1 to 2 days or longer.

that's one lengthy post. hehe :p i shall stop

CNY 2011 Day Cuatro

ok, i bet some of u must be wondering by now what's with the days in spanish. haha. i say: 'i dont know either' =p nah...for fun only la plus it's not like i really know days in spanish. other than uno, i sought help from everyone's good friend, google for the rest of the days =p lol.

well oh well, tomorrow everyone's back to school and work :( even though cny lasts for 15 days, pretty sure after today most ppl would feel like it'a already over since the holiday is over. haha.

today we didn't much really. went to church in the morning and then uncle's place after lunch. church was a little (just a little :p) weird today simply because pastor's family isn't around. i dont ever remember coming to church without seeing at least one of the Lees around. today's my first. haha. i anticipated it to be awkward. it was awkward but not as much as i thought. hehe. everything went well nonetheless which was good =)

i'll leave you with these two photos of ivory's artwork

CNY 2011 Day Dos

so...we're already into the second day of chinese new year...well, third as i'm writing this :p

as usual on every cny second day, we had lunch at aunt's place in the afternoon and my aunt is no doubt an awesome cook! =) after which we headed out to visit my second grandma in sungai buloh. this year's visit was slightly different as we had additional family members joining for the first time in what seemed like ages and we also had our first ever family (dad's side) photography session! =) never in my 22 coming to 23 :p years of life have i ever taken a family picture with these family members of mine. haha. after my grandma's place, we headed off to my eldest aunt's place and bumped into my cousins and their families there too. had some drinks, collected some ang pows, had some chats...we headed home.

that was pretty much my second day of cny. hehe. didn't manage to take any pictures though, except for one with my phone :p kinda regretted but it's k la since i dont think i would have been brave enough anyway to go around snapping pictures of people i rarely meet :p

i thought this was rather cute. my 70+ yr old aunt makes this 'kok chai' and gives us some every year. this year she put them in a bottle with a heart shape on the lid! haha. she's so cute!

i am chinese too

A Chinese man walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan officer. He tells the loan officer that he is going to China on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000.

The bank officer tells him that the bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the Chinese man hands over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produces the title and everything checks out.

The Loan officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the Chinese for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then drives the Ferrari into the bank's underground garage and parks it there.

Two weeks later, the Chinese returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41.

The loan officer says, 'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi-millionaire. What puzzles us is why you would bother to borrow $5,000? The Chinese replies: 'Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there safely when I return.'

i know He's watching over me

so my company has decided to extend my contract till the end of march...wee....i'm glad really. initially it was only till the end of this month but then some changes happened and i manage to stay longer. i wish they could extend it longer but then i'm happy with what i got. i really thank God for this as i was getting tired of job hunting and having to adapt to a new environment in a new company all over again. though i didn't get the extension period that i was hoping for, deep down i believe that He has a great plan for me and i'm eager to find out what is it =)

till then i'm constantly grateful and thankful for all that i'm blessed with! =D

of rings and roses

last saturday, we had to attend my cousin's wedding ceremony both at home and hotel. honestly, i wasn't too ecstatic bout it simply because besides his name and what he works as, i know nothing else about this cousin of mine! :p but well we had to go anyway for the sake of my aunt. haha. it was fun nevertheless. the tea ceremony was the better part compared to the dinner. my aunt's and cousins 'kan cheong-ness' and 'kelam kabut-ness' was fun to watch. they were so cute running here and there, shouting at each other instructing this and that and at the same time laughing loudly at their own silly acts. i could tell that my aunt was happy though :) i overheard her saying she loves it when all the family are gathered together though it happens very rarely.

it was also my first time attending and witnessing a garden wedding. i love garden weddings! they are so romantic! :)

and boy oh boy, aren't weddings fancy these days. it's like a competition for the fanciest wedding :p my cousin used a porsche as his wedding car wei! haha. for the cocktail at the garden, guests were served with pretty (and yummy :p) cupcakes, shepherds pies and some pinkish-dragon fruit-like drinks by waiters and waitresses walking around with trays. at the dinner, guests were treated to free servings of the Nestle Bliss yogurt drinks, all in bottles in the fridge. we could just go over and take whatever we wanted :) not bad huh? haha. this may not sound like the fanciest wedding but its fancy enough for me so far.
